What’s it used for?
Traditionally known as knitbone, Comfrey (Symphytum officinale) contains a component called allantoin (said to aid in skin cell replication) along with rosmarinic acid and tannins that also help new skin cells to grow.
Comfrey salves have traditionally been used to help the body heal:
- Minor wounds and skin irritations
- Ulcers
- Scars
- Inflamed skin
- Reduce inflammation (from sprains and broken bones)
- Pulled muscles and ligaments
- Bruising
- Sprains
- Strains
- Osteoarthritis
Contraindications
Comfrey should not be used on deep or infected wounds as the skin may heal over with the infection trapped inside the body due to the faster healing process.
It is recommended to use Comfrey Magic in conjunction with antiseptic herbs such as tea tree to help disinfect the area.

Comfrey Magic is just that… magic! I chatted with Asti and told her that I had a cut on my finger from a cooking knife slip, which would not seal to form a scab. Each time I took the dressing off it started bleeding again. Within about 2 hours of applying Comfrey Magic it had developed a seal and within a few days the wound was completely healed! It was a phenomenal response and I will be sure to keep using the product for any skin wounds my family develops in the future. I highly recommend this product!
