Comfrey Magic Skin & Bone Salve is handmade right here in Australia from just 3 pure and traditional ingredients:
- Organic Australian cold pressed extra virgin olive oil
- Organic whole plant comfrey (leaf, stem and root)
- Organic Australian beeswax
Comfrey is infused into the olive oil and mixed with beeswax to make this beautiful salve. No preservatives, no fillers, and no shortcuts. Just a powerful herbal ointment crafted the old fashioned way.
What’s it used for?
Traditionally known as knitbone, Comfrey (Symphytum officinale) contains a component called allantoin (supports cell renewal) along with rosmarinic acid and tannins. These plant compounds are traditionally used to support skin repair, reduce inflammation, and soothe soreness.
Comfrey salves and ointments have traditionally been used to help with:
-
Bruises & minor wounds
-
Sprains, strains & sore joints
-
Dry or irritated skin
-
Muscle aches
-
Pulled ligaments & tendons
-
Osteoarthritis
-
Scars
-
Ulcers & skin inflammation
How much comfrey is in it?
One of the most potent comfrey salves on the market (if not the most potent), each jar of Comfrey Magic is made with 87.5% all-organic comfrey infused Australian olive oil and 12.5% organic Australian beeswax.
Comfrey Magic as an end product is 17.5% organic comfrey plant (made up of 67% leaf and stem, 33% root).
A word of warning
Comfrey should not be used on deep, punctured, or infected wounds, as its rapid healing properties may trap bacteria inside the skin. For surface wounds, it is recommended to pair it with other antiseptic herbs such as tea tree.
Please note: While I believe deeply in the traditional uses of herbs, it is always recommended that you speak with your healthcare professional before using any herbal products — especially if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, or managing a medical condition. Comfrey Salve vs Comfrey Cream: Avoiding Water In Skincare
Many products on the market are called comfrey cream but are made with the use of water and because of this require added preservatives to stop them going mouldy. I make a comfrey ointment (also called a balm or salve) because it:
- Penetrates deeply and stays on the skin longer
- Creates a protective barrier for dry and inflamed skin
- Contains no synthetic additives or preservatives

“Comfrey Magic is just that… magic! I chatted with Asti and told her that I had a cut on my finger from a cooking knife slip, which would not seal to form a scab. Each time I took the dressing off it started bleeding again. Within about 2 hours of applying Comfrey Magic it had developed a seal and within a few days the wound was completely healed! It was a phenomenal response and I will be sure to keep using the product for any skin wounds my family develops in the future. I highly recommend this product!” – Karen O.
